Director, District 5 (2025-2027)

Katherine “Katie” Taylor, M.A., CCC-SLP, serves as the District 5 Director for the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA). She previously served four years on the District 5 Advisory and Honors Recognition Committee and is honored to continue supporting her professional community.

Katie is an acute care speech-language pathologist in Fresno, CA, and a proud alumna of Fresno State University. She primarily works with adult and geriatric populations, assessing and treating dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, motor speech disorders, and aphasia. Her caseload includes patients with tracheostomies, stroke, dementia, neurodegenerative diseases, and those in critical care or post-cardiac surgery.

She is a clinical educator and mentor to graduate students and is currently pursuing her FEES certification and Board Certification in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S).
In addition to her District 5 leadership, Katie serves as Co-Lead for the Community Subcommittee of the CSHA Medical SLP Committee, where she is passionate about fostering professional engagement and collaboration.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Lulu or traveling to the beach. A loyal Fresno State Bulldog, she can often be found cheering on her alma mater. She also serves on the Welcome Team and Medical Support Team at her local church and volunteers with California 4-H.
