In accordance with the amended bylaws that passed on March 14, 2024, CSHA will hold a special election to fill the below positions.

ELECTIONS

The following positions are up for election on the CSHA Board:

• SLPA Director (2024-26) Two-year term
• Vice President of Advocacy & Professional Practice (2024-26) Two-year term
• Vice President of Continuing Education (2024-25) One-year term with the option to run again for a two-year term in 2025
• Vice President of Membership Outreach (2024-25) One-year term with the option to run again for a two-year term in 2025

District 7 will be holding a special election to fill a seat that will be vacated by Kelly Arellano, our current District 7 Director on July 1st.

• Director District 7 (2024-25) One-year term with the option to run again for a two-year term in 2025.

Director District 9 (2024-25) One-year term with the option to run again for a two-year term in 2025.

Application Requirements

1) A statement of no more than 500 words which may include information about how the individual has demonstrated the expected competencies for the position being sought, what they believe to be the major issues facing the field and CSHA, the skills they would expect to contribute to the board’s governance role, or any other relevant information.

Candidate statement: Each candidate is allowed a maximum of 100 words to describe their reasons for seeking office

2) A letter of intent describing the position being sought and level of interest in serving on the board. The letter shall also include:

• Present Professional position and employer.
• Educational degrees earned, institution granting the degree, and date conferred.
• Past leadership and/or governance positions held in CSHA, ASHA, or in other professional and/or community organizations.
• A statement of no more than 500 words which may include information about how the individual has demonstrated the expected competencies for the position being sought, what they believe to be the major issues facing the field and CSHA, the skills the would expect to contribute to the board’s governance role, or any other relevant information.

Deadline

Nominations are due no later than 11:59 p.m. PST on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
Nominations that don’t meet submission requirements, or arrive after the posted deadline, will not be considered out of fairness to others.
