Joining the Attendee Hub

We are excited to see you online this week at Convergence 2021, The California Speech Language Hearing Association Virtual Conference.

Thank you for joining us at our first-ever virtual event. Below are directions for attendees to access the conference attendee hub. The attendee hub is the website you will use to access conference content.

While the conference starts on Thursday, March 11, you can access the attendee hub anytime before the event to review conference programming and build your own personalized schedule. Please note that some presenters may not upload their handouts until the end of the day on March 10.

Tips for a Smooth Sign In

Much like you would need to travel to a live event and book a hotel, there are some logistics related to attending a virtual conference.

These are a few basics.

You will need a desktop or laptop computer with a stable internet connection, video and audio capability. Joining via mobile or tablet is not recommended.

Times in the portal adjust to your computer; however, some browsers have a separate time zone adjustment.

For best viewing experience we recommend the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Safari. For attendees viewing on Internet Explorer 11, you may experience lags in streaming. To maximize your attendee hub experience, we recommend you do not sign into through your company assigned VPN.

Ensure that your computer’s camera, microphone and sound are enabled for your browser and allow permissions to the Cvent Attendee Hub platform.

Technology Requirements

You will need an Internet connection and to have the Zoom app downloaded on your device.

We strongly recommend downloading Zoom in advance of the event.

Signing On To The Attendee Hub

We would like to invite you to join our Attendee Hub. This will give you a chance to navigate the virtual platform and build your own personalized conference calendar.

After you click on “Attendee Hub,” you will be asked to input your first name, last name and email address.

After you enter these items, you will receive an email with a verification code that will allow you access to the attendee hub.

It will take at least 60 seconds to receive the email. If do not receive a code, please check your Junk/ Spam folder. Cvent is a large event company and many of their emails end up in junk/spam folders.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need to repeat this verification code process each time you access the attendee hub, so it will be good practice to access the attendee hub in the week before the event starts on March 11. You will be sent a new verification code each time you sign on to the attendee hub. Verification codes expire after 24 hours.

Login Tip: Sign in Wednesday Night

We recommend that all attendees sign into the attendee hub the night before the event starts on Thursday, March 11. The verification code lasts for 24 hours, so you will be signed in and ready to go the morning of the event.

If you wait until Thursday morning, we strongly recommend you sign into the attendee hub at least an hour before the first session you are attending.

Text Verification Code Option

Your verification code can also be texted to your phone. Unfortunately, most registrants did not provide their mobile number when they registered. If you would like to add your mobile number to your registration record, go to your email inbox and search for and look for an email with the subject line: “Registration Confirmed – Convergence 2021.”

If this does not work, search for “” in your junk/spam folder and look for an email with the subject line: “Registration Confirmed – Convergence 2021.”

In the email, you will find your confirmation number from when you registered. This email will include a link to access your registration record and your confirmation number. This will allow you to go back to your registration and add your cell phone number the field marked “mobile” at the bottom of the contact page. After you update the “mobile” field, keep hitting next and resubmit your registration.

By adding you mobile number, you can avoid having to check your junk/spam folder for the verification email.

Recorded Sessions

We will be presenting conference course live during the conference from March 11 – 14, 2021.

Recorded versions of most conference courses will be available from March 15 at 9 am through April 5 at 5 p.m.

CEU Certificates

When you attend a virtual conference course, your attendance will be recorded and you will automatically be given ASHA and state credit for any sessions you attend. CEUs are available for the vast majority of conference courses, except student sessions, the student research symposium, the awards, the fundraising event and the keynote.

If you attend the live conference sessions from March 11-14, you will receive an email a week after the event with a link to your CEU certifications.

If you attend recorded sessions from March 15 – April 5, you will receive an email a week after the event with a link to your CEU certifications.

NOTE: If you have not already sent in your ASHA number, please send an email to with your first and last name, their ASHA number and the email address they registered for the convention with.

Building Your Schedule

Once you are in the attendee hub, you will be able to build your own personalized schedule for the conference. Attendee will not be able to reserve or pre-select conference courses. Courses will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The capacity for an individual conference course is 500 people, but we do not expect to go over those capacities. But on the remote chance we do, you do have the option of watching a recorded version between March 15 at 9 a.m. and April 5 at 5 p.m.

Although you cannot pre-select sessions, you can create your own personalized schedule for the event to help you track your activities.

Go to the “All Sessions” tab in the main navigation of the attendee hub.

You can add sessions to your calendar by browsing all available session titles and descriptions within the ‘All Sessions’ tab. Tip: Make sure to save these times on your personal or work calendar (by selecting the ‘Add’ button) and enabling reminders.

Mobile App

From your Mobile Phone or iPad download the app “Cvent Events”

Open the add and search for the event ID “(Convergence 2021)”

Click the download button to the right

Go to the profile tab at the bottom >> Login with your First/Last Name & Email Address

You will be prompted for a Verification Code which will be emailed to you. You will receive a text if you your mobile phone is in your registration record.

Drawing for Prizes! Making Appointments with Exhibitors

Thanks to our sponsors, we are offering a drawing to our conference participants who visit our exhibitor pages. You just need 500 points to be entered in the drawing. Here’s how you earn points:

  • Set appointment with an exhibitor/recruiter: 100 points
  • Visit an exhibitor page and give them your information: 50 points

So, for example…

  • If you visit and give information to 10 exhibitor/recruiter, you will receive 500 points.
  • If you make appointments with 5 exhibitor/recruiters, you will receive 500 points.
  • If you make appointments with 2 exhibitor/recruiters and visit 6 exhibitor/recruiters, you will receive 500 points
  • Or any combination to get you to 500 points!

All participants with 500 points will be entered in the drawing. The staff and one of our CSHA officers will conduct the drawing by the end of March and winners will be contacted. Prizes include:

How Do I Make an Appointment with an Exhibitor?

Attendees will be able to request 1:1 appointments with Exhibitors/Sponsors/Recruiters during the conference.

To request an appointment, click on the “Looking to Network?” button on the homepage, and then click on the “Create Appointment” button found on the top left-hand corner. Select which type of appointment you would like to set up (Attendee Appointment or Exhibitor Appointment). You will then be able to request a 1:1 appointment with available exhibitors, sponsors and recruiters.

You can also request Exhibitor Appointments directly from their profile by clicking the “Schedule appointment” button above the description on their profile page.
