Honoring Others for Caring for Communication

Do you work with someone who extends that extra measure of care to a person with a communication disorder?  Have you ever noticed someone taking the time to listen or assist another with a communication device?  Have you ever wanted to recognize the school administrator for supporting you or your program, or the certified nurses’ aide for helping your patient eat more comfortably?

These are events that occur in our professions every day.  CSHA members “care for communication,” and now we want to acknowledge all those unsung heroes who also “care for communication.”

As a new member benefit, CSHA is making available to members on the CSHA web site a Caring for Communication certificate.  Members can print this certificate and present it to an administrator, a nurse, the janitor, or a colleague—anyone who shares our commitment to serving those who are challenged by communication difficulties.  It is a wonderful way to honor someone who has taken the time to make a difference.  It also helps to spread the word about our Association and our professions.

This is not a contest, and there is no cost to the sender.  What you experience, though, will be a warm feeling as you acknowledge and recognize someone for a job done exceptionally well.
