Course Description:
This course will review the guidelines for the Required Professional Experience (RPE) as mandated by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Licensing Board (SLPAB). The morning session content will focus on knowledge and skills required by speech-language pathologists who are supervising RPEs for the first time. The afternoon session will build on supervisory skills needed to move from supervision to mentoring and maximize job satisfaction. Participants can register for the whole day (6.0 CE Hours) or the afternoon only (3.0 CE Hours).

LSVT LOUD
Tri-City Medical Center (Assembly Rooms 2 & 3)
April 19-20, 2012

The LSVT® LOUD Training and Certification Workshop is a two-day program designed to train speech-language pathologists in a voice/speech treatment technique for adults and children with motor speech disorders, with a specialty in Parkinson disease.

The fundamentals underlying key treatment elements, efficacy data supporting treatment outcomes, details of treatment tasks, including hands-on practice, and practical considerations are taught. Application of the LSVT LOUD treatment to pediatric and adult motor speech disorders (e.g., multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and stroke) will be discussed. The impact of LSVT LOUD treatment on pre/post neural imaging data will be presented. This training is offered for 1.2 ASHA CEUs.
