JACQUELINE KREITER KOTAS is a bilingual Speech Language Pathologist who is the clinical coordinator of bilingual pediatric programs and lecturer at San Diego State University. Her experiences include working in California public schools, and Children's Hospital with culturally diverse speakers. Furthermore, she has performed research with colleagues from both SDSU and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. She has presented at International, National, State, and local conferences and/or published research articles on topics related to advocacy, dynamic assessment, language use in bilinguals, the efficacy of graduate-level courses in bilingual/multicultural issues, parental questionnaires for multicultural children and narrative development for children with Williams and Down Syndrome.
Nidhi Mahendra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative Sciences & Disorders at California State University-East Bay. She is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and former Chair of ASHAs Multicultural Issues Board. Her areas of research interest and expertise are in adult neurogenic speech and language disorders and multicultural issues affecting client-clinician interactions.
Robert MCKinney is a multilingual Speech-Language Pathologist with master's degrees in Communicative Disorders, International Relations, and Education (Teaching English as a Second Language), who is currently working with predominantly bilingual students for the Sweetwater Union High School District in San Diego. He has taught ESL to students from around the world for over fifteen years. He speaks six languages, has lived in six countries, and has traveled to over fifty.
Betty Yu is an English-Mandarin speaking Speech-Language Pathologist and a student in the Joint Doctoral Program in Special Education at UC Berkeley & SFSU. Her interest involves early intervention. She is presently conducting research on the communicative competence of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders living in Chinese-American immigrant families.
Anna Wong is a multilingual Speech-Language Pathologist who provides home health care and hospice for the Sharp Hospital system. She has presented and recently published a Quick Reference Guide to Celebrate and Rejoice in Diversity which provides an overview of ten prominent cultural and religious groups in San Diego County. |
